In a devastating accident on Kitui-Kibwezi Road, six students lost their lives in a hit-and-run incident. The victims included three primary school children and three secondary school students. According to Dr. Resila Onyango, spokesperson for the National Police Service, five of the deceased were girls.
Initial reports suggest that the probox salon car involved in the crash was speeding at the time of the incident. The driver initially fled the scene but later surrendered to the authorities at Mutomo Police Station. The investigation is ongoing as the community grapples with the tragic loss of these young lives.
